Living Life and Making Art.

Hi, I’m Hope!

From a young age, I always loved making art. Whether that was on the stage, at-home crafting or choreographing a dance number to convince our parents to let us have a sleepover, I was always creating something. That has not changed.

As a recent graduate from James Madison University, currently based in the Virginia/DC area, I am still pursuing my creative passions. In my 12+ years of experience, I have done all the theatre things: musicals, plays, Shakespeare, short films, choreographed, music directed, stage managed and more.

For the past three years, I have been a part of a Shakespeare troupe in VA: Charlotte’s Villeins (yes, with an E!), where we strive to make Shakespeare more accessible and engaging to the community. We study the text and perform revues and staged readings. In our staged reading of Twelfth Night, I had the honor of playing Viola. More performances to come!

Off the stage

Recently, I joined a local company called Character Connections, where we bring the magic of princesses to children. More photos and videos coming soon!

In my time at JMU, I was an employee in the costume shop learned many skills including machine sewing, hand sewing, hemming, quick alterations, wig cleaning and so much more. I have also taught music at summer camps with Four County Players and choreographed some numbers for my old high school.

When I am not doing theatre, I love reading, hiking, running, jiu-jitsu, photoshoots, crocheting, and spending time with family and friends.

What I stand for

Community

I think the art we create is only as strong as the community we build it with. We create art to share it, so if we cannot share in the creation, I believe it takes away from the final masterpiece.

Growth

I believe there is always more to learn. We can all keep bettering ourselves and our craft - that journey is never-ending.

Compassion

I find some of the most beautiful art to be about humans taking care of other humans. At our core, we are all flawed, imperfect, and beautiful human beings and when we celebrate that and look out for each other, we take a step forward as humanity.
